We are writing to share some exciting news and to request your support. On July 27, our entire family is going on a mission trip to El Salvador. We are going with several members of our church (Church of the Holy Apostles–Katy, TX) and working with an organzation call Sus Hijos.

Sus Hijos (His Children) is a registered NGO (nonprofit/c-3) created to help children and adolescents in government and private orphanages in El Salvador. Sus Hijos provides humanitarian aid to the community and implements projects to reunite families and show them the love and grace of God.

On our mission trip, we plan to build and furnish a house for a family in need, visit children in orphanages, minister to orphan children on a beach trip, feed the homeless and community, all while growing their faith and ours.

Some of you may know that Juan was originally born in El Salvador and came to the United States as a child. Our family has traveled to El Salvador several times and on one of those trips Melissa felt a call to go and serve in El Salvador. Juan has previously been on several mission trips to Guatemala and Honduras; however, this will be our first mission trip as a family and we are excited to meet the people, share the gospel, and help build a house for a family.

We have already paid for our airfare, transportation, lodging, food and some of our mission work. The cost for building the home has been paid for by our church. After building the house for a young family, would would like to provide them with essential items like pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils, towels, bedding, and clothing. We plan to purchase these items when we arrive in El Salvador and would appreciate your financial support. It would mean so much to family we will be helping.
